Breaking Ground in Kapuskasing and the Surrounding Areas for 65 Years

A Tremblay Contracting Ltd was established in 1955 by Antonio Tremblay. Our initial years were incredibly humble. Mr. Tremblay started with one dozer working for Spruce Falls Pulp and Paper. However, with determination and grit, he built the company into a successful family business known throughout Kapuskasing today.

Excavation and Construction Equipment

Since those early days, we have built up expertise and capacity in a variety of construction services. Our fleet has also expanded with a comprehensive range of equipment, such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, trucks, and more.

In addition to employing more staff and adding equipment, we’ve also diversified our services. We now offer various construction services and products, including heavy equipment rentals, landscaping and granular material.

The Tremblay Legacy Continues

In 1995, Mr. Tremblay sadly lost his battle with cancer and the business was passed on to his sons Julien, Daniel, André, and daughter, Aline. A Tremblay Contracting Ltd has contributed to many town projects, such as the excavation of homes in the community and swimming pools, parking lots and many large projects. One such major project was the demolition of the Kapuskasing Inn.

To this day, the family continues to manage and operate their father’s legacy with the same standards and work ethic, as well as offer the same outstanding service that was reflected in their father’s passion for his work.

To quote Antonio's our founder's words, “you are not tired until the job is done.”

On January 14, 2022, the company suffered a terrible loss. Our long-time leader Julien Tremblay passed away due to a lengthy illness and a short battle with cancer. He played an important role in the company as our president, and his attention to detail and calmness under pressure was unparalleled. His sense of humour and kindness will be greatly missed.

His devotion was to uphold the success of Antonio Tremblay Contracting's family legacy. His passion and work ethic were not fuelled by status but by his kind-hearted nature to help others, no matter the recognition. As a respected leader and member of the community, he persevered through his illness to continue offering the best quality service… always!

Julien had one wish for the company to live on after his passing. In granting this wish, we now welcome a third generation in family business leadership, with Julien's nephew Joey Pichette stepping in to fill those big shoes.

A Tremblay Contracting will continue to offer exceptional service to our loyal customers, which we are so grateful for and to new customers... we look forward to serving you.

Community Involvement

A Tremblay Contracting Ltd is always ready to help the community with monetary donations and our expertise. We assist the education sector by participating in various co-op programs for students and provide education and training for employment. Throughout the years, many employees have come to work within the company and have received the proper training to operate heavy equipment machinery in the construction industry. Today, the company employs a total of 10 full-time and 5 seasonal employees. At A Tremblay Contracting Ltd, we are proud to be part of this community and proud to follow in our father’s footsteps.
